Musikarama (karama — dignity in Arabic) started in 2018 as a response to the humanitarian crisis in Athens. Guitar lessons in refugee camps. A belief that music should be accessible to all. That belief hasn't changed.
Today we're a fully self-organised music school and recording studio in Exarcheia. Everything is free — lessons, workshops, studio time. We avoid the strict student/teacher divide: if you know something, teach it. If you don't, learn it.
We welcome everyone who shares our values of respect and co-existence. Priority is given to asylum seekers, refugees, migrants, and minority communities facing racism and discrimination in Athens.

No registration needed for most sessions. No experience required. Just show up — all instruments, accents, and skill levels welcome.
International voices, all accents welcome. No audition, no experience needed. Come for the music, stay for the energy.
Monday · 8pmEver wanted to sing along in a taverna? Bouzouki, baglamas, voice — all welcome. No experience needed.
Tuesday · 9pmTwo-hour sessions for all levels. Two slots per week — Wednesday evenings and Friday afternoons.
Wed 7–9pm · Fri 3–5pmRhythm, groove, and percussion — the foundation every musician needs. All instruments and levels welcome.
Wednesday · 8pmLyricism, production, freestyle, movement. A creative space rooted in hip hop culture and community solidarity.
Friday · 8pmBring whatever instrument you play — or don't play yet. Walk in, no booking needed. We'll figure it out together.
